Happy Valley Home Re-imagined

This contemporary home had a decaying front porch and lackluster street appeal. The client asked for a fresh new entry that would match the scale and quality of its own interior, and that of the surrounding homes.

We removed the front porch and created a formal entry garden, complete with slate pavers, new plantings, and several tons of columnar basalt to add volume and interest. We created a new heavy timber structure for the porch roof, and placed it on massive Douglas fir posts, in the manner of the great lodges of the Northwest.
